Position Summary:

As Prime’s Employee Relations Specialist, you will partner closely with field operations leaders and senior leadership to address workplace concerns and promote a culture of respect, accountability, and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first line of defense and provide guidance on employee relations issues across all areas of the organization, (coaching, performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, etc.), ensuring compliance with local laws and consistency in policy application.
  • Investigate employee relations matters, including allegations of policy violations, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct and provide relevant documentation.
  • Conduct interviews, gather evidence, document findings, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on performance management, employee conduct, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist with developing key HR policies such as performance management, disciplinary processes, and related procedures, ensuring these processes are scalable and adaptable to the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Assist with the design and delivery of training on employee relations topics like conflict resolution, performance management, and compliance.
  • Track and manage employee relations cases, reporting on trends, outcomes, and actionable insights to HR leadership to improve practices across the organization.
  • Provide practical Employee Relations advice that realistically addresses and balances the needs of the business.
  • Maintain updates on any state specific laws that may impact the company’s handling of employee relations issues. 
  • Conduct employee exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and best practices in the US, with the ability to navigate complex, multi-state issues with a common-sense approach to resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence work behaviors and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder management, effectively managing relationships with senior leadership, business partners, employees and external parties.
  • Experience in managing sensitive employee relations matters with a high degree of confidentiality, maturity, and discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities, and provide strategic advice under pressure.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to data gathering and root cause analysis. Possesses intellectual curiosity; brings insight into the team/business
  • Role can be based anywhere in the United States, but will be required to travel to corporate office in Saratoga Springs, NY once per qtr. 
  • Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • 5+ years of employee relations, human resources, or workplace investigations experience.
    • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
    • Experience supporting multi-site operations, retail, hospitality, property management, or self-storage environments.
