Position Overview
The Legal Assistant supports the Legal and Compliance departments by performing a wide range of administrative, clerical, and legal support duties. This role ensures timely and accurate preparation of legal documents, maintains organized records, coordinates communication with internal and external stakeholders, and assists in day-to-day function of department. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling confidential information with professionalism.
• Manage legal department calendars, including compliance deadlines and recurring obligations.
• Process incoming mail and internal requests directed to the legal department.
• Process department invoices and follow up for payment
• Follow up on projects, outstanding tasks, and deadlines to ensure timely completion and status updates.
• Respond to internal inquiries and provide general support to business departments.
• Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, including contracts, correspondence, and memoranda.
• Coordinate document execution and maintain contract logs and databases.
• Maintain electronic filing systems ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with retention policies.
• Assist with contract management including contract signing, tracking, renewals and expirations
• Assist with legal matters, including regulatory/consumer agency inquiries, and litigation support
• Perform ad hoc research to support the Legal and Compliance teams.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy
